Content, coverage, definition

The statistics includes two products: number of new companies started in a calendar year with genuinely new activities, and number of businesses still operating after three years.

Current statistics of new businesses are annual statistics and current monitoring of start-ups drawn intermittently.

Definition of bankruptcy (in swedish)

New company:

The statistics are designed to measure the number of start-ups with new business. The material contained no such transfer of ownership, change of legal form or other reconstructions, all of which can result in a re-registration. The statistics are compiled annually and published normally within seven months of the calendar year relate.

A firm is counted as start-up when:
- the activity is wholly or start-up
- business has been resumed after being suspended for at least two years.
A company that defines the start-up when starting his own business with a business man has a past employee.

From the above definition, the main activity is the concept which is the central factor in determining whether there is a genuine startup business or not. We therefore need more than one registration of a company for registration shall be counted as start-ups. The start-up statistics are not such as ownership changes, changes of legal form or other reconstructions, all of which can result in a re-registration.
